ELDER ABUSE
Signs of elder abuse
- Suspicious or unexplained fractures, bruises, injuries
- Malnutrition, dehydration, poor hygiene, inappropriate or insufficient clothing
- No access to their money, unusual request by the senior to withdraw money or large amounts of money missing from their bank account
- Fear and anxiety associated with family, friends and/or caregivers
- Lack of proper medication or over-medication
- Being forcibly confined to their room or home
- Lack of prostheses such as dentures, glasses, hearing aids or walkers
- Lack of comfort and stimulation such as books, television, music or companionship
- Unpaid bills or dissappearance of valuables such as jewelry, paintings, furniture or clothing
